What I Wore Wednesday!

I'm back y'all! With the help of Ross (dress for less!), I've got a few blouses to carry me through this last trimester. I really had no idea that Ross had a maternity section until I read about it on another blog. I've gotten a few things there for real cheap, mainly cotton t-shirt type tops, all under $6. Another maternity shopping tip - check out their dress section. There are so many empire waist styles that are perfect for that growing belly!

At this point, it's almost painful spending money on maternity clothes because I'm nearing the end and then what? But most of the tops I buy can be worn in the postpartum months. And the pants, you'd better believe I'll be sporting those after baby comes!

The blouse is from Ross and was $11.99. The slacks are H&M (only $7 in the clearance section!).

I also got my hair trimmed the other day, which always make me feel better.

This is my new date night/dinner with friends/Sunday morning go-to outfit. Woohoo! Thank you Ross!!!

What I Wore - PAJAMAS!!!!

It was a desperate pregnancy moment-I needed ice cream and I needed it right away! 

The bad news: I was already in my pajamas (owl pj pants with my rooster print shirt-lots of animals!!).

The good news: I live in St. Louis, pajama capitol of the world. At any time of the day or night, you will see dozens of men and women out in their pj's. It's a pet peeve of mine, trust me. BUT, there was something adventurous about me joining the masses for 20 minutes. I felt like it was something I had to experience before we moved back to the NW. When in Rome, right?

After this close to starting a group called "Moms against pajamas in public" (MAPIP) but now, I think a pajama ministry could be pretty effective in my neighborhood! People talked to me, we complimented each other's pajamas and I probably could have stayed in the store and just walked around inviting people to church. The pj's were a window into their lives! I was one of them!

But, I'm pregnant and just wanted my ice cream, so I came home, ate it and went to bed :)

What We Wore - Red Boots

The last time we visited Nashville, my mom sent Lazzy home with a pair of red cowboy boots. He LOVES them!!!! And so do I :)

We didn't plan it, but last Sunday, Lazarus and I went to church in red boots. It made my southern heart SO glad!

What I Wore - Boring Mom Outfit

Boring mom attire, but it fits. Well, my shirt's working hard, but I'm not complaining.

Jeans : Forever21, $10.50 (yeah...this is the last year I can confidently shop there, right? is there a store designated for moms in their 30's?)

Side braid pony tail inspired by Katniss. I'm in the middle of book number three. Can't put it down!!

I've gone a few days without a nap and feeling pretty good. Afternoons are tough, but I pull through with two little rascals keeping me on my feet. Today, I walked in on Lazzy making his own chocolate milk, only without milk. Yup, just a cup with chocolate sauce in the bottom, ready to be mixed.

Between one boy's drama and the other splashing his face with dirty toilet water, it's a wonder I'm able to sit down between 7am and 9pm. Good thing we're headed to the hills tomorrow!! I'm so excited to spend time with my family and celebrate my little sister at her wedding shower!

Also looking forward to finishing Mockingjay!

What I Wore - 14 Weeks

Well, I'm almost 14 weeks and am feeling much better. I'm in shock because it took 16 weeks to feel better with either of the boys. My energy is still low and I'm craving bagels like mad! I've definitely gained some weight already (not sure how much...) but being pregnant in America is so awesome!! Mac & Cheese at your finger tips. ALL. THE. TIME. I've converted to Annie's Organic-it makes me feel better about the large quantities I inhale on a weekly basis.

Elijah is home from school now (more on that later) so we're off to the Botanical Gardens today!

This hat was an awesome find. Our local Goodwill gets loads of new merch from Target that didn't sell. This hat was only $3!! I love the shade it provides for my fair skinned face and the wind has yet to knock it off my head. Love it!!

What I Wore Wednesday - Last Month

I finally have some pictures from that amazing 20's wedding I was in last month!! The flapper dresses, hair and make up were so much fun! Even though I was 7 weeks pregnant, I had so much energy and joy that day.

 This little blouse was such a great find. I usually wear it with a belt, but these days, I'm thankful for the extra room! You just can't beat teal polka dots AND ruffles!!

Getting dressed is such a challenge these days! I'm just thankful for the warmer weather now that I've got my little stretchy pants and comfy flats. I just switch out a roomy blouse and call it good. First trimester is almost over but I have a nagging feeling the crummy belly pains will not disappear for a while.

What I Wore Wednesday - Easter Sunday Best

This year, I looked into my closet and tried to find the cutest dress I had because I knew I wouldn't be able to wear it for another 2-3 years (thanks pregnancy #3!). I sucked it in, zipped it up, threw on an old cardi and purple pilly tights and called it good. We made it through 2/3 of the service before heading home due to Elijah's stomach ache.

After nap time, Elijah miraculously woke up healed and ready for Easter lunch with friends. We made it out of the house only for Elijah to get sick right as we're sitting down to eat. Thankfully, it was a one time deal, probably due to eating too much candy. He recovered quickly and ate his weight in food. All is well and I still got to have normal big people interactions.

What I Wore - Pajamas and a Flapper Dress!

I feel like I've been on a sinking boat since last Thursday! We had an amazingly fun jam packed weekend, but it really wiped me out. I have spent all of Monday and yesterday in bed.

Over the weekend, we hosted our best friends from Seattle. Because of all the busy-ness, I only got this picture of the kids. Honestly, it was the best one:

My friend Jessica bought all the children matching jammies and it was so cute to watch the kids play together in them!

On top of hosting a family of 5 in our 2 bedroom apartment, I was the maid of honor in an amazing 1920's wedding. The boys were ring bearers (and the only children at the wedding!!) and Dan read scripture. Miraculously, it went pretty smoothly! Lazzy didn't tumble down the isle and I didn't cry too hard. I'll have more pictures soon, but for now, this is all I've got:

Are we living in the wrong era or what?! I need a time machine!!

I had about a day to recover from that fun craziness and then got called to an all night birth. BAM! Back in the saddle!

All of these things are wonderful. I just wish I had enough time and energy to completely soak them all in. Thankfully, Dan is on spring break so I'm looking forward to a very calm week of playdough and finger painting in my pajamas!

What I Wore - Glee Again!!

While catching up with the most recent episodes of Glee, I spotted yet another top worn by the character Rachel. Although her style in high school was very preppy, I find myself LOVING pieces of each of her outfits. This time, it was the top:

I definitely styled mine differently. Less preppy and more....bow-y? Hmm...I don't really know how to describe my style.

What They Wore - "New" Coats

We've had a few snow days lately and are expecting more this week. When the ice turned to slush, we decided to take advantage of the sunshine and go for a walk.

The boys got new coats and I LOVE them! Elijah's is from Goodwill Outlet (Circo brand, $.80-ish?) and Lazzy's was on clearance at Old Navy ($8). Two fleece lined hooded jackets for under $10. Not too bad.

Just look at how cool these two dudes are. I honestly do not feel worthy of their fashionable presence!

I enjoyed snuggling the little guy in my fleece pocket sling. Best purchase ever!

Slush, ice and snow is in the forecast for the rest of the week...looks like I'll be referring to Pinterest to get me through this last bit of winter with three boys!

What I Wore - Art Opening

A few weeks ago, Dan and I went to our friend Rachel's art opening. It was so much fun to see her creations. She is truly a talented soul.

We had to get a picture in front of our quilted portraits. I had Rachel make these for our 6th wedding anniversary and really want ones of the kids, too!

Rachel included an interactive piece where people could add pieces of fabric to be quilted later. I can't wait to see the finished product!

I honestly cannot remember the shoes I wore, but I loved wearing this outfit for a night out with Dan.

What HE Wore - Elijah's Style

Having a baby in the house seems to put years on my boys. Elijah is Mr. Helper, very responsible and always worried about the baby. He'll tell you he's 4 and a HALF, but he acts much more like he's 8. Oh, and he's just so handsome! I enjoy our lunches together while the little ones nap. Is it sad that he's my source for grown up conversation?

Elijah has been more interested in choosing his own outfits. He often gravitates toward button down shirts and this one is his favorite:

Now that Lazzy's hair is almost pony tail length, Elijah has decided to grow his hair out, too. He visits the bathroom to water his hair so it's "styled". Oh geeze....here we go!

Maybe I'll get dressed this week and have an outfit to share next Wednesday. Maybe, Elijah will help me out!

What I Wore - A New Coat

Okay, don't make fun of us, but Dan and I got new coats this winter and.........they kind of match. AH!

Alright, so they aren't exact, but they are similar in color. Anyways, Dan's is from that vintage clearance sale on my birthday last fall. It was $1!! Of course, it cost us a little more than that to have it dry cleaned. My new coat was a gem that I spotted as I was approaching the check out counter at Goodwill. 

Tags still attached? My size? Only $13? I'll take it!

Lazy was sick for 10 days straight, then I got a 24 hour bug, so the outfits haven't been super cute lately. Thankfully, I got dressed for the wedding shower I hosted last weekend, so here's my outfit!

Elijah got a new shirt from Goodwill. I just LOVE these boys in blue!!!

Does anyone have advice on how to keep these boys right where they are?

I'm afraid if I go to sleep tonight, I'll wake up to find them all grown up and asking for the keys to the car.
