Tender St. Louis Christmas

It's officially Christmas time at the Robbins house. We've decorated and gotten a tree and now, Elijah asks every day if it's Christmas day. It's going to be a looooooong month.

Christmas tree shopping was really fun. We usually go to Ted Drewes to get free ice cream while Dan ties the tree to the car. This year, Dan wanted to support a boy scout troop. We found a sweet little Christmas tree lot and the boys ran wild. We were the only family there, so I wasn't too stressed about it :)

Our pretty little tree!

On our way to the tree lot, we saw a sign for a neighborhood tree lighting event. We called up some friends who lived nearby and made plans to enjoy the night together, which consisted of free hot chocolate, free carriage rides and a visit with Santa!! Well, "a real man on this earth who is dressed up as the dead Santa" - Elijah.

Lazzy didn't cry and Elijah didn't inform Santa of his own death many years ago. I'd say it was a success!

We decorated the tree the next night. I love how ornament heavy the bottom of the tree gets when little people are in charge of decorating. I also LOVE seeing my African ornaments out. Reminds me of our first Christmas in Malawi with Elijah! Reminds me of simpler times and that all I need is my sweet healthy family and that everything else is extra fluff.

Lazzy had a blast reuniting with ye old singing snow man.

We are ready to celebrate all. month. LONG!
Happy December folks! And Merry Christmas!!

  1. I really enjoyed this post. We put our tree up last night and my 23-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter still insist on hanging their "Baby's First Christmas" ornaments themselves, along with some other special ornaments, but at least now they're not all hanging at the bottom of the tree, lol.
