Friday Featured : PaperKarma!

I am so tired of opening and throwing away junk mail. Seriously, the amount of credit card applications we get is ridiculous. It's especially overwhelming when you come back from vacation. Now, with my new smart phone (yes, I crossed over and we're saving $40 a month!!), I can put a stop to all this junk mail once and for all.

PaperKarma is the newest app on the market and y'all, it's awesome. Download the app on your smart phone (for free!), take photos of your unwanted mail, and PaperKarma does all the dirty work. That's right! They unsubscribe you from credit card companies and magazines so you don't have to deal with them.

-No telephone calls to robots
-No confrontations
-No hurt feelings

Just another easy way to keep your life clutter free.

PaperKarma was featured in an article at All Things D this week and this is what CEO Mortazavi says :"more than 100 billion pieces of junk mail are sent every year in the U.S. alone, making it both time-consuming and a waste of natural resources."

Are we a wasteful nation or what? Re-using and recycling are important, but you can only think of so many things to do with unwanted business envelopes. Let's just stop it before it comes to us.

Our dear friend Brendan has been working along with Morazavi to get this app up and running. I have no idea what it takes to make an app, but I can imagine it involves a lot of 0's and 1's (00110101101101-isn't that how computer programmers do things??). Either way, I am so proud of Brendan. He's created something brilliant and useful!

  1. Love this! Thanks so much for sharing. I was just be-moaning the amount of junk mail (and amount of paper!) that I have to sift through and recycle each week. Totally getting this app. Happy weekend to you!

  2. Thanks for the great idea! My junk mail has gotten to the point that I'm either going to have to take up papier-mache or get this app!
