Elijah has many favorite things now. It used to just be dogs, but recently, he has fallen in love with random animals (including penguins and ostriches), colors and all things transportation. The two paintings he did today prove his love of such things. His first painting was of a helicopter. He was very intentional about rounding the top and front of the helicopter. Then he filled in the middle with different colors.
His second painting was of a penguin. I know I am biased, but I just think this kid is a genius! I really think he tried to make a round face with an eye and a mouth. Of course, the main color he used was black with a little bit of red on the "face". It's been so fun to give him a set of paints and see what he comes up with. Gone are the days of scribbling for fun. Elijah is only interested in created real pictures of real things he loves.
