Elijah had plenty more accidents this evening and STILL has not gone into the toilet. While at Target, I picked up some fruit snacks (or "gummies") to reward Eli for staying dry between potty times tomorrow. Now I'm off to bed for hopefully a good nights rest. Tomorrow is a new day and I am hopeful.

Boot Camp Potty Training-End of day 1
I'M SO TIRED! My back hurts, my feet hurt and almost every towel in our house is soaked with pee. I had to do a load of laundry during nap time so we could finish out the day. Dan got home at 7 and I gladly went to Target while he put Eli to bed. We need more underwear and paper towels so I can worry less about laundry and more about the boy. It has been a very long time since I stayed at home all day long. Really, I can't remember the last time I did that.

You're doing great-hang in there! I forgot, the other thing we did was get a really salty, new snack (I think pretzel crisps for Owen) and a special juice drink. Thirsty boys and sugary drinks made lots of pee pee. Then, we put the potty in the same room with us so if I saw some coming, we could at least finish on the potty. I think once he gets to the potty once or twice, he will have it down! Also, you could put a video on to pass the time. With Micah, he just sat on the potty for a long time, eventually some came out.
ReplyDeletei bought flannel-backed vinyl tablecloths and cut them into crib-sized "mattress pads" when we were potty training beothan. a la your mama's home birth prep instructions, we layered them in his crib between all the crib sheets we could get our hands on. it made accident clean-up in the middle of the night blessedly quick - just strip the wet sheet and "mattress pad" off the crib, and presto! fresh, dry linens were already on the mattress beneath! (your mom is a genius!)
ReplyDeletehang in there! the clean and dry rewards are worth all the hard, soggy work!
