What we've been up to

The last two weeks have been super busy. Between work, school, visitors and moving, each day has been packed with activities. Eli has been busy helping dada make coffee every morning and mixing things like cookie and pancake batter.

We've been busy battling our little boy to put clothes on and to keep them on.

We finally took our first trip to the St. Louis Art Museum. Eli kept saying "wow, cool!"

This is a self portrait (NOT a photo) done by Chuck Close.

We've been playing with the hampers.

Last Thursday, we got the keys to our new home. We have known since we moved to St. Louis that we would eventually need to move into a bigger place. As well, our neighbors upstairs were very very difficult. Elijah often got scared because of all the noises coming from upstairs and he quickly learned how to say "people stairs-LOUD!". After looking and looking, we finally found the perfect place for us that we can stay in for the remainder of our time in St. Louis. We are still in our neighborhood which we love. It's close to friends and the church and we can still walk to Tower Grove park, grocery stores and coffee shops. It's an upstairs unit with two large balconies in the front and back of the apartment. It has lots of windows that let in natural light. We rarely need to turn on the lights before 5pm!!! Another great plus is the size of the second bedroom. There is definitely space for 2 kids.

My mom and little sister are both in town this weekend and we are still moving in a bit, but I will put up pictures once we are settled. For now, here is a picture of Eli's "new" toddler bed from craigslist. He's been in it since we moved and so far, so good. He climbs into bed, we pray, and he stays put until morning when he gets out and knocks on his door for us to come and get him.

My mom arrived on Tuesday afternoon. She helped me organize the house a bit and did the dishes. It was so helpful to have her around. We went to the Science Museum and Eli got to show grandma around.

My little sister Abby arrived yesterday and we are excited to spend the weekend together. Elijah has loved all the attention, and I have loved all the help! More pictures are coming soon, especially of the new apartment.
