Last night, I put Lazarus down for some tummy time. He seemed to be enjoying himself so I went into the kitchen to set Eli up with his paints. When I came back a minute later, this is what I saw:
He looked cozy so I left him there for a few minutes. When I came back a second time to check on him, this is what I saw:
He continued to nap for the next 45 minutes while we played around him and ate dinner. It was adorable!
Lazarus is our little sleeper. Since moving him into the boy's room, he barely wakes in the night. Last night, he didn't wake up to eat until almost 5am! I realize now why people say that every baby is different. Elijah didn't sleep through the night until he was 15 months old! We struggled through every method to get him to sleep more than 3 hours at a time. It was exhausting. We had hoped that Lazarus would do better with sleep, but we had NO idea it would be this easy! Hooray for second born easier children!!!
Yay, that's awesome! My first is a way better sleeper than my second. V. would wake to the sound of a mouse sneeze! Thankfully he is used to most of Áine's noise and will go back to sleep if he wakes up, but we were spoiled with her! Honestly, at 2 years old and 8 months old, they probably both need the same amount of sleep to be happy--so you are right, every kid truly is different. Glad the room sharing is going well for you so far.
ReplyDeleteYes, Lucy has been and still is a much better sleeper than Peter. I was worried about her the first few weeks of her life because she'd put herself to sleep and sleep long periods of time and I wasn't sure it was healthy for a newborn to do that. I've since decided it is quite healthy. :)
