Free Summer entertainment in St. Louis

Over the last year, we have truly enjoyed all the free activities that St. Louis has to offer. However, we haven't been here an entire summer yet. There is so much more!!! For anyone who lives in/near the city, here is a long list of free evening activities that the whole family can enjoy.

Shakespeare Festival in Forest Park: Hamlet runs nightly at 8pm until June 20 (except Tues. and Sat.).

The Muny at Forest Park: The Muny is an outdoor theater featuring such plays and musicals as Cats, The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast and Footloose. There are plenty of free seats if you get there by 7pm.

Twilight Tuesdays at the Missouri History Museum: Free music starting at 6:30pm on the front lawn-a perfect place for a picnic date!

Whitaker Music Festival at the Botanical Gardens: Wednesday nights at 7:30 (free admission after 5pm) until August 4th. The Children's garden has free admission, too between 5pm and 7pm. This is another great place for a picnic date!

Concerts in the Park: Numerous parks around the city are offering free concerts nightly beginning between 6pm and 7pm. There are lots of different styles of music-something for everyone!

Jungle Boogie concerts at the Zoo: Friday nights from 5-8 until September 3rd, free admission. Most of the bands on the list look pretty cheesy to me, but I know Elijah would love it. Other evening activities at the Zoo are listed HERE.

LIVE on the Levee at the Arch: Free music downtown beneath the arch by the river, Friday and Saturday nights.

Looks like we've got our summer evenings all planned out!
