Malawi making the news

The BBC has published two articles on Malawi in the last week, both having to do with food. I don't usually enjoy reading BBC articles because I feel as though they were written by a 4th grader. Still, I do like reading about Malawi and since it hardly ever gets coverage, I will take what I can get. The first article is about food vs. education. The second article is about the Malawi maize miracle. Just in case you are interested.....

  1. I would love to hear your opinion about the "Maize miracle" article. I have talked to several people about this article and I feel that BBC misprinted when saying that the winter is a time for leanness in the harvest. Farmers that I have talked with in Malawi all say that the winter is the most plentiful time.
Thanks for posting this. loved seeing you last week!

  2. This is really good news, to see a country grow enough food to feed itself, even if it was with external aid and fertilizer. It confirms what I saw when I was there in January, that every square inch of land had corn growing.
