The End of a Chapter

When we moved to St. Louis four years ago, we had one of these:

Since then, we've welcomed another, cared for many and now anticipate the arrival of another!

I remember when we bought Dan's desk and got him all set up for his first semester of class. I had NO idea what the next four years would hold!
I also had no idea that we'd get rid of Dan's office in our fourth year to make space for a playroom of all things!

The last four years have been nothing short of challenging, but we've come away with a deeper marriage and a better understanding of who we are in light of God. We are so blessed!

I am so excited to spend this week celebrating Dan's graduation with his family in town. We've got lots of busy nights ahead of us, but hopefully we'll get to squeeze in a date night?

  1. I've had those same title words running through my head lately too! The Schmitt family has changes coming up this summer (namely, moving back to Washington!), but it's hard and sad to be moving away from the home we've made here. Congrats to all of you (and especially Dan!) on graduating seminary, so so exciting!

  2. I can't believe y'all are done! It was just 4 years ago that we were all packing up to leave Malawi!

  3. Wow. What a difference a few years makes, huh? The thing that floors me when I think about how far we've come in so few years is that I never had any idea. And had I known, or had even an inkling of a clue, I would have RUN in the opposite direction. But now that we're on the other side of it, it doesn't really look that rough.

Here's to the next four years. Can't wait to see what adventure are ahead for your family.
