Thanksgiving!

We hosted our first Thanksgiving this year and I'm glad it's done with. We definitely had a good time but it was stressful in the beginning. The morning began with loads of laundry because of a certain pee pee accident and a milk spill. I was thankful that our guests weren't coming until 4pm so we had some time to figure things out, which included figuring out how to cook a turkey. I was also thankful for the surprise visit by the entire Jensen family. They cleaned, set the table and helped me prep most of my dishes for the dinner. If it weren't for them, I might have just given up and taken myself to dinner at Sonic....alone.

Just after they left, Dan got the turkey ready for the oven while we enjoyed our first snow of the year. When Elijah woke up from his nap, he looked outside and said "Mama, it's Christmas time!".

Sadly, these are the only pictures of the night. I was too busy being thankful for the food to take pictures! We truly did have a wonderful time with Dan's dad visiting from Seattle, our dear neighbors and a couple from church.

  1. I love the "thankful for you" on your place cards. Really beautiful - I might copy you next year. =) Glad your 1st hosting experience went well, and that it's behind you now. It only gets easier as you get more experienced. Good job!
