Grammy in town

Dan's mom came to visit us this week from Seattle. We had a fun time keeping her busy while showing off our new home. On Tuesday, we all went to the zoo. The goal was to get there before 10am so Elijah could ride the carousel for free. We made it in time to ride it twice, once with grammy and once with me.

Dan gave me a break and wore Laz in the Baby Bjorn. It was Lazzy's first time to travel without the sling. It took a while for him to get used to it, but he finally conked out.

We watched the flamingos balance in the pond.

Eli greeted the chimpanzees.

The entire zoo was decorated for Autumn. It was the perfect place to grab a quick fall photo.

On the way home, we drove by art hill to show off our beautiful (FREE) art museum.
That night, Candace was a saint and took care of both the boys so Dan and I could go on a date. We stayed out past 10pm!!! We had drinks, dinner and desert at Bailey's Chocolate Bar in Lafayette Square. THEN, we went to Monarch (where Dan works) for another drink. We just didn't want to go home!

On Wednesday, Candace took Elijah out to the Botanical Gardens while I ran errands. Later that day, we explored antique row on Cherokee street then had dinner at Benton Park Cafe. Elijah ran the up and down the side walks as if he was losing his legs tomorrow. Oh yeah, all while holding that trusty football.

After amazing omelets for dinner, we enjoyed the last minutes of daylight while walking running through Benton Park.

The rest of the week was spent playing at the park with grammy while I rested at home with Lazarus and got caught up on house work. When we dropped Candace off at the airport, Elijah cried because he couldn't go on the airplane to Seattle. It was sad to see her go, but we were glad for the visit.
